The Nightmare Before Christmas is one of my favorite stop-motion animations. When the LEGO 21351 set came out it immediately went on my to-buy list. LEGO held a contest to celebrate its release.
The task:
To celebrate the release of our newest LEGO Ideas set ‘Disney Tim Burton’s "The Nightmare Before Christmas”’, we ask you to dive into the enchanting world of Jack Skellington and other characters.
Transform a classic Christmas element into a scary Halloween-themed version using LEGO bricks. Reimagine your chosen Christmas element as if it were part of Halloween Town.
Think twisted branches, eerie decorations, and scary surprises. Use a mix of LEGO bricks and special pieces to bring your haunted creation to life. Incorporate dark colors, cobwebs, and Halloween accessories.
My idea was to turn Santa's sleigh into Jack Skellington's Halloween sleigh!
• Jack Skellington as Santa Clause!
• Skeleton Reindeers!
• A lot of xmas gifts
• Sally Skellington and ghost as Santa's helpers
• 298 parts
It was November 2024 and I was working non-stop on my next animated film. The entire studio was one big set for the film. I remember building this sleigh after hours, very tired. The prototype was designed on the computer and later I built it with real brick literally on my knees.
I took these photos really quickly. Somewhere in a corner of the studio. I barely managed to find a spot for a gray background piece. I didn't win anything but I had a blast building something new, for myself. Check out the MOC below!
