Let's travel in time. I did this project around February/March 2020. The Polish branch of The LEGO Group wanted to create an advertising campaign that would show how different LEGO sets could be rebuilt and combined.
It was five years ago, so I don't remember everything exactly, but I think I could have chosen two sets from a limited pool of sets released that year.
I remember that I liked the fact that 71707 Kai's Mech Jet had useful bricks in the colors for the M:Tron theme which I am a great fan of. And 60244 Police Helicopter Transport had white bricks, which I needed for building snow. Oh, and a helicopter that actually flies. I really wanted to test it out then. It's really cool!
Getting back to the main topic - the idea of making a mech with a police truck on top was completely obvious to me and without much thinking about it I just built it :)
The design was approved but ultimately it wasn't used in any advertising. It just ended up in a display case at some event.
The funniest thing is, I've kept it built ever since, just to take pictures of it and post it here when I have a free moment. But I already had the pictures. I took them five years ago and they not so bad :D So now I immediately parted it out and used those huge Trans Neon Green wings/blades in my new M:Tron ship MOC. It's already waiting to be photographed. Stay tuned!
