My next stop-motion animation. Produced by Kalais Studios for The LEGO Group and Universal Pictures! As of this writing, it has already over 1.1 million views on the official LEGO YouTube channel!
I'm finally starting posting my Jurassic World Epic Evolution series. I shot them about two years ago. I was responsible for practically everything – from script creation, storyboarding, directing, set construction, lighting, cinematography, animation, special effects, and sound design, to final editing.
This was one of the coolest projects I've ever worked on.
After the huge success of my animations for the 30th Anniversary of Jurassic Park (the most popular one has almost 6 million views), I signed a new contract and was given a lot of freedom in my work and more time for the production.
This resulted in greater refinement. I developed and improved the entire production workflow, and I think the films in this series are more technically advanced and visually engaging than their predecessors.
I was going to write a long article for each film. About the entire development process, behind-the-scenes info, constant challenges, encountering problems and ways to solve them. I kept putting it off because I preferred creating new things to writing about "old" ones. And just like that, two years flew by without the slightest mention of Jurassic productions on this site.
So I decided to post relatively short articles about the films themselves. And I'll make the proper behind-the-scenes materials, accompanied by videos of the development process, as separate articles.
The main idea for each film in the series was to show a world where dinosaurs live among us and include one LEGO Jurassic World set from 2024. In this case, it was the "Baby Dinosaur Rescue Center" - 76963.
Quick trivia - I managed to sneak in an M:Tron logo! It's one of my favorite factions from the old Space LEGO sets. So, is M:Tron now canonical in the Jurassic Park universe? After all, it's an official production :D
Another interesting fact - in the video, you can see a huge forest. It was built on a 24 baseplates! And a few more with water and a shore. It was a huge model with a lot of possibilities for rearranging and adjusting the individual elements.
Okay, now go and play the video :) The version on my channel is in better quality. LEGO only uploads videos in Full HD; mine is full 4K. I recommend playing it on your TV. The original material was recorded in 6K and tested on a 65-inch screen! It's quite impressive on a large display!
And here's the original upload on the LEGO channel:
Edit:
There is already the next chapter!

I’m really impressed by how detailed the forest and environment look - the scale and atmosphere are amazing. Great job on the whole production.
